Dan: it depends what for you are using Zaurus. OPIE is better when it comes to PDA stuff but it lack big apps (spreadsheets, text processors). GPE is X11 based so most of stuff from desktop can be built for it - but I do not like its PIM stuff.

So maybe I should look at switching over to GPE? And start working on a gtk app for it?

Dan: Maybe it would be faster to write new application for this stuff but the usual problem is lack of person which will write it. For example I decided to not touch Qtopia apps too often because I think that this software platform is dying.

Would it just be faster amd more efficent to write a new app that dumps some of mileages funcunality and offers tab/csv export/import of text files? What would be real nice is an app that just asks location, mileage driven and auto adds date and time and removes the last 3 digits of you last mileage entry (allowing for faster input)? Maybe add personal and business as an select option and have the program total both for you. Does anyone really need to add costs/repairs?

cvs layout

Date/Time, Destination, mileage, business, personal
04-27-2006 08:00, Office, 29000, y, n
04-27-2006 16:00, Home, 29010, n, y

I wouldn't mind helping do this if it's something that does not require learning a time consuming programming language. Maybe I could lay it out in QT Designer 2 first and then have someone help code it?
